Logan LaPlante: Hackschooling makes me happy

This was shared with my by a friend of mine on Facebook who knew I was on the search for inspirational TED Talks. Logan LaPlante is 13-years old and considers himself a bit of a hacker, but not how you would typically think of a hacker.

The science of being healthy and happy comes down to the following eight things:

  • exercise
  • diet & nutrition
  • time in nature
  • contribution & service
  • relationships
  • recreation
  • relaxation & stress management
  • religious & spiritual

The above thoughts come from Dr. Roger Walsh which he refers to as Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLC).

Logan’s parents took him out of school at the age of nine after seeing a talk by Sir Ken Robinson.

At just thirteen, this kid gets it.

School is talked about and teach us how to make a living, which is different than how to make a life.

There’s one to read again!

And in fact, watch this one again…a few times.
